- * African Marine and General Engineering Company Limited (AMGECO) was incorporated in Kenya on 12th January, 1928 for the purpose of acquiring the business of shipbuilder, ship repairers, marine and general engineers carried on by African Wharfage Company Limited. The original shareholders of AMGECO were Smith Mackenzie and Co., The British India Steam Navigation Co. Ltd., and the Union Castle Mail Steamship Co. Ltd. AMEGCO is strategically located at the entrance to the Port of Mombasa.

Southern Engineering Company Ltd.
- * Southern Engineering Company Ltd (SECO), An ISO Certified Company established in 1957, offers a range of marine, civil, and offshore engineering services, as well as shipbuilding and ship repair services in projects throughout East Africa. SECO is the flagship company of Alpha Group’s Marine Division in East Africa’s marine industry.
- * SECO’s facilities include a fully-equipped shipyard covering an area of 52, 246 square meters (over three acres) which is strategically located at the entrance to the port of Mombasa, a 160 meter jetty with a draft of 7.5 meter as well as two modern floating docks with a combined lifting capacity of 1200 metric tons. In addition, SECO’s facilities include a 2200 square meter workshop floor space facilitating fabrication, mechanical, carpentry, electrical and electronic workshops with modern equipment. The infrastructure is harmonized by a dedicated team of 600 qualified and experienced personnel including Management, Naval Architects, Engineers, Tradesmen and Support Staff.
