Overview of the flower industry in Kenya

  • Kenya is one of the top flower producers in the world, exporting to over 60 destinations worldwide. It is also one of the lead exporters of roses to the European Union. The flower industry is Kenya’s third-largest foreign exchange earner.

  • The main areas where flowers are produced in Kenya are around Lake Naivasha to Nakuru, Nairobi, Athi River, Nyandarua, Kericho, Eldoret, Kitale, and the Mount Kenya region, Thika, Juja, and Kiambu.
